Street and Smith’s SportsBusiness Journal ranked Colorado Springs as No. 72 out of 239 cities in terms of minor league markets.
The ranking was based on tenure rank, attendance rank and economic rank. It does not take into account other sports options in the market.
Obviously the ranking is based on just one minor league franchise operating in the Springs, the Sky Sox. There have been minor league hockey and indoor football teams here in the past decade but they have folded.
What do you think about the Springs as a minor league market or as a sports market in general?
